چکیده

Fibroadenoma of the breast is a common, benign condition. It is common among women of child-bearing age. A conservative approach for these benign tumors is the standard of care since the prevalence of breast cancer arising from a fibroadenoma is very low (0.02%). Fibroadenomas can be followed over time, rather than excised. Carcinoma-in-situ and invasive carcinoma have both been reported to arise from a fibroadenoma and various studies have reported the risk of malignancy increases 1.5to 3-fold following the diagnosis of fibroadenoma. We present two patients with a long history of a fibroadenoma who were found to have breast cancer metastatic to lymph nodes. In both cases, the primary tumor arose from the fibroadenoma.

Background: Ultrasound propagation velocity was measured experimentally in normal, fibroadenoma and ductal carcinoma breast tissues, in order to distinguish normal breast tissue from tumors. Materials and methods: In quantitative measurements of ultrasound velocity, 403 breast tissue images were selected, comprising 130 normal breast tissue, 130 fibroadenoma, and 143 ductal carcinoma tumors. Spontaneous Infarction of Fibroadenoma of the Breast in a Young Girl Mimicking Carcinoma

Background: Spontaneous infarction is an uncommon complication of fibroadenoma of the breast. Women having proliferative disease without atypia have a twofold elevation in their risk for subsequent invasive breast cancer. We here present a case report in a 38 year female having fibroadenoma, intraductal papilloma and fibocystic disease of breast who subsequently developed inv...

Frequency of Cytomegalovirus (CMV) in benign and malignant tumors
